Co-op Academy Friarswood is an inclusive, loving and caring primary school based the Westlands in Newcastle-under-Lyme. We welcome any child from the local community.
All aspects of learning are viewed enthusiastically, we don’t just focus on core subjects. We provide a rich and broad set of opportunities for children to develop every aspect of their character and their learning.
The responsibility for creating a happy, welcoming and secure school rests with those of us who work here, supported by parents and families. We’ve created an amazing place to learn and work and do this through our Co-op Values and our ‘Ways of Being’.
Our ethos is to create a happy, relaxed and stimulating atmosphere in which each child can develop positive and co-operative relationships as well as building an understanding and respect for all people and cultures.
If you’d like your child to join is in Reception for the forthcoming year then you can apply for a place through Staffordshire County Council here.
Currently we’re accepting children in all year groups. If you’re thinking of sending your child to our school then I’d advise that you get in touch first and arrange a visit. We’ll give you all the forms you need to fill in and talk you through the process.
All our staff are enthusiastic and dedicated in ensuring that we offer the best in education. We all treat our young people as unique, special and valued members of our school. We believe in equal opportunities for all no matter what sex, gender preference, religion or ethnic origin or other of the nine protected characteristics. Everybody is equal and everybody has a right to learn in a safe and supportive environment.
