Newsletter - February Week 4

Dear Parents and Carers

Hello everyone. I hope you have all had a lovely week and made the most of the extra day. We had a special birthday in Year 3 - Happy Birthday to Eva who celebrated her 2nd/8th birthday yesterday!

Year 6 Art
This week it was wonderful to see our Year 6 artists get the seal of approval from their featured artist, Kate Windsor, herself. Kate posted some of the children’s work on her social media pages. You can see it on @katewindsorart on instagram. I’m sure that you’ll agree that we have very talented and hard working children - well done Year 6

Eco Warriors
This week some of our KS2 children had interviews for a place on our Eco Warrior group. They completed applications and were interviewed by Mr Linley-Simon (our community pioneer) and Mrs Bebbington. They had the very difficult job of choosing just 5 from each year group. I am amazed by the children’s thoughtfulness, resilience and strength of character taking part in such a rigorous process - well done to everyone who put themselves forward and congratulations to the children who will be representing Friarswood this year.

Parent Survey
Co-op Academies Trust are in the process of collecting the thoughts and opinions of representatives of all of our school community - staff, parents and children.

The KS2 children have completed their surveys in school but please remember you still have time to make your voice heard - praise or grumble we value what you have to say! You can access the survey using this link:

Bags to School
Thank you for your contributions to our collection. We had a huge pile of bags collected which will raise valuable money for school funds.

Year 4 Basketball
On Thursday Mrs Dean took a group of children to Co-op Academy Stoke for a basketball session. They worked hard to improve their skills using a range of drills and exercises. Mrs Dean was very impressed and, as always, our children represented Friarswood in the best possible way. Well done Year 4!

A reminder that we will be celebrating World Book Day - Bedtime Stories next Friday 8th March
