The intent of our Art and Design curriculum at Co-Op Academy is to deliver a scheme which is accessible to all.   The curriculum will maximise the development of every child’s ability and promote academic achievement in the area of Art and Design.   Art and Design is entwined with our co-op values and promotes self-challenge and encourages children to become independent learners.  In Art and Design children voice their thoughts, ideas and opinions in a critical yet positive way which drives learning forward and enhances their confidence, skills, value and esteem.  

We aim to deliver a curriculum which develops learning and results in the acquisition of knowledge and skills for the children.  In addition it will incorporate the understanding of projects and will provide pupils with a clear purpose for their artwork.   Children will develop an appreciation of art which will enhance their cultural capital.
