At Co-Op Academy, we believe that Design and Technology is an inspiring, rigorous and practical subject.  Using creativity and imagination, pupils will design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values.  Design and Technology is laced with our co-op values – children learn by experimenting and evaluating both individually and as a team.   Children respect each other’s views and comments, and share their opinions in a constructive and positive way.  Our curriculum offers children a structured way to take Design and Technology forward and they will become more aware of projects and have a real purpose for the work they create. Children will also learn and revisit the importance of our world and how it should be treated.  

Our children will be developing an appreciation of Design and Technology which will enhance their cultural capital.  This will equip our children with problem solving skills useful throughout their life.
