Headteacher's Welcome
Welcome to Co-op Academy Friarswood and our Friarswood Family.
I’m very proud to be the Headteacher of this wonderful school. Co-op Academy Friarswood is an inclusive, loving and caring primary school based in the Westlands in Newcastle-under-Lyme. We have a dedicated and enthusiastic team of staff who support children and families in their journey through the start of their education and learning journey. By providing a rich and broad set of opportunities in a safe and happy environment, children are able to develop every aspect of their character, not just their academic side.
I have been the Headteacher for 13 years and have enjoyed creating this happy, welcoming and safe school along with everyone who works here, supported by our children and families. We believe that children need to feel safe and happy in order to thrive and gain the most out of their time at school. We encourage confidence, self belief and resilience in a range of experiences and activities. We foster a love of learning and encourage the children to be the best in whatever they do. There is no limit.
We’ve created an amazing place to learn and work and do this through our STAR values (Safe, Trest & Teamwork, Achieve and Resilience) along with the Co-op Values and Ways of Being.

These values help our children to develop positive and co-operative relationships, help children to develop their own skills of resilience and self belief and above all, help them to develop into enthusiastic learners giving them every chance to fulfil their aspirations.
