Local Community Summer Walk 2024

Last Wednesday, we wandered out in the woods again to see how things are developing into summer in the Three Parks. Accompanied by a host of parents, carers and children, we saw lots of plants getting ready for the (hopefully) sunny weather, including brambles in full flower, delicate blue speedwell and fading fringe cups. Mr Linley-Simon was also on hand with many facts about our 'native' flora. For example: did you know the REALLY stingy stinging nettles were brought to England by the Romans to keep warm? They used to hit themselves with them! A great walk, enjoyed by many! #DoWhatMattersMost #ShowYouCare
