Newsletter ~ October Week One

 Dear Families,

Parking on Abbots Way

Unfortunately, there seems to be a growing number of families parking unsafely outside of the school.  I’m not sure why they choose to ignore the yellow lines and put so many of our other families at risk.

I have been in contact with the police and with Staffordshire Highways.  The local police have said that they will be randomly coming to Abbots Way to help with this problem.  However, please can you help with this.

Firstly, please can I ask that you help to keep our families safe by not parking on the yellow lines. (please pass this message to Grandparents)

Secondly, please can I ask that you report your concerns to Staffordshire Highways

With more reports made, they will be able to support us with keeping everyone safe

NSPCC
The NSPCC has a new online safety dinosaur ‘Technosaurus’ which is designed for young children as they are starting to use technology and the internet.  It is a resource for parents to help support conversations around online safety.

World Mental Health Day
On Thursday 10th October, we will be taking part in activities to support World Mental Health Day.  As the theme is ‘Hello Yellow’, we are asking all children to school wearing something yellow.  Throughout the day, children will be taking part in wellbeing activities and discussing how to support their own wellbeing.

School Photos
Don’t forget on Monday 7th October we will be having our photos taken. The Hub will be open for siblings who do not attend Friarswood photos from 8am. If your child has PE please can they come to school in school uniform and change into their PE kit at school.

Early Years Meeting
Thursday 10th October at 5pm, early years parents are invited into school to find out all about the resilience tracker that we’ll be using to support the children with their learning.

Dougie Mac Coffee & Cake Morning
Come along and join us on Thursday 17th October (9am - 10am) as we will be holding our annual coffee and cake morning.  It would be great if you could bake some treats with your child ready for this special morning.

Young Voices Choir Rehearsals
I’ve had the pleasure of joining the choir for the last couple of Tuesdays.  They are beginning to sound amazing and know some of the songs by heart which is great. Thank you to everyone for letting the children practise at home.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Take care and stay safe.

Mrs Wilmer
